Arc Raiders Patch Notes 1.42.0
Embark officially titles this "Live Update 1.42.0". It delivers the second part of the Phantom Targets event with the Anomalia Outfit, a new Raider Project, the Tick Hunter Set, and Regional Map Condition Scheduling — plus a Fair Play follow-up on anti-cheat enforcement and a long list of audio, gameplay and UI fixes.

Phantom Targets Part 2 is the headline, alongside a structural change to how Map Conditions are scheduled and a sizeable fix pass. No weapon balance changes.
- Phantom Targets Part 2: the source of the phantom targets is revealed as erratic Wasps — new Raider Project and the Anomalia Outfit.
- New cosmetics: the Tick Hunter Set is now available.
- Regional Map Condition Scheduling: Map Conditions are now offset per region instead of one global schedule, so they land nearer your local peak hours.
- Fair Play update: action taken against accounts using recently popularised cheat software, faster sanctions on economy exploits, and initiatives targeting teaming and matchmaking abuse.
- Twitch Drops: Car Freshener and Ceramic Vase.
- Gameplay: the Snitch can now call in a Rocketeer (and a Firefly + Hornet duo), the Photoelectric Cloak works against Turbine lightning and Matriarch missiles, and Quick Wheel slots can be rebound.
- Fixes: Queen/Matriarch stomps hitting through walls, Dolabra/Hullcracker/Rascal Practice Range damage, indoor and foliage footstep audio, plus crash and stability work.

Phantom Targets Revealed
🐝 The Source: Erratic Wasps
- With help from many Raiders, Shani pinpointed the source of the phantom targets: erratic Wasps.
- These ARC units are behaving in ways she has never seen — emitting strange noises, flying in irregular patterns, and carrying unidentifiable tech.
- They are all swarming towards one location, and Shani needs further assistance to understand what is waiting for them there.
🎁 Part 2 Raider Project
- 1.42.0 adds the Phantom Targets Part 2 Raider Project, continuing the event.
- The second part brings the Anomalia Outfit.
Regional Map Condition Scheduling
This is the structural change in 1.42.0. Embark has been working to align Map Condition scheduling with actual playing habits, and is introducing Regional Map Condition Scheduling.
- ▸ Starting with 1.42.0, Map Conditions have their schedule offset based on region, instead of a single, global schedule.
- ▸ The schedule shifts to fit each region's peak hours, so you are less likely to miss a Map Condition regardless of where you are.
- ▸ Embark is asking for feedback on Discord and says it will make adjustments accordingly.
- ▸ The Map Condition tracker on the official website now reflects this change.
Related in this patch: a Region label was added to the Map selection screen showing your current Matchmaking region.
Fair Play & Anti-Cheat Update
A Note on Third Party Software
- ▸ When reports of third party software come in, Embark investigates — starting by verifying whether the software actually does what it claims. A lot of the time, claims are just claims.
- ▸ Downloading unverified, unofficial software risks more than your account: beyond bans and losing access to the game, your data and personal information could be exposed.
- ▸ Embark strongly recommends enabling 2FA or passkeys on all external accounts connected to your Embark ID, and never sharing your credentials.
Recent Actions & Future Plans
- ▸ Improvements made alongside Anybrain and Denuvo Anti-Cheat led to swift action against a large number of accounts using recently popularised cheating software.
- ▸ Work continues on permanent sanctions for serial, blatant cheaters — making new accounts harder to obtain and discouraging cheaters from returning.
- ▸ Detection of accounts participating in economy exploits has improved, allowing quicker sanctions. These have been ongoing.
- ▸ Several simultaneous initiatives target teaming and general matchmaking abuse; Embark will share more when they are ready.

Two new Twitch Drops arrive with this update: the Car Freshener and the Ceramic Vase.
🦆 Rubber Duck Contest Winners
The three finalists were selected by popular vote on Discord. Designs by gekko.rar, im_AshCheeks and nassguhl are being brought into the game and will be added in a future update — not this one.
Content and Bug Fixes
Grouped to match Embark's official sections in Live Update 1.42.0.
Audio
- Refined footstep and movement sounds indoors: removed scuff sounds, improved audibility at distance, and updated occlusion and concrete surface cues.
- Improved footstep audio when moving through foliage for clearer, more natural sound.
- Added unique footstep sounds when moving over plastic cloth and tarp surfaces.
- Added different audio for all Tier 3 magazine upgrades firing sounds.
Gameplay
- The Snitch can now call in a Rocketeer. Additionally, it can also call in a Firefly and Hornet duo. Snitch Scanners should not be affected by this change.
- Fixed stomp attacks from the Queen and Matriarch sometimes hitting through walls or from much farther away than intended.
- The Photoelectric Cloak now works against Turbine lightning attacks and Matriarch missiles.
- Added spawn protection to the Surge Coil Trap to avoid affecting players as they spawn in.
- Added the ability to rebind Quick Wheel slots.
- The Dolabra, Hullcracker and Rascal now deal damage correctly in the Practice Range.
Map
- Fixed an issue where a zip line in Buried City couldn't be interacted with, by repositioning it to ensure it can be used.
Performance & Stability
- Improved UI texture streaming cache for better memory efficiency and reliability.
- Fixed several crashes and made various improvements to stability.
UI
- Fixed project tiles incorrectly showing "Part X completed" on projects without parts.
- Corrected spelling errors and updated localized text across multiple languages.
- Polished matchmaking error messages for clarity.
- Completed project quests now correctly bring you to the associated project page when pressing the "Claim" shortcut button in the logbook.
- Added a Region label on the Map selection screen, which displays your current Matchmaking region.
Known Issues
- ⚠ Embark is still investigating reports of crashes on Xbox Series S.
- ⚠ Crashing on PC related to Windows Update KB5121003 — a workaround is available while a fix is worked on. See our fix guide →
- ⚠ Players on Epic may experience a sudden loss of keyboard input. Embark recommends disabling any active Overlay, or alt-tabbing out and back into the game.
- ⚠ The Projects tab has a sticky notification dot.
- ⚠ The throw animation may fail to play when detonating a Trigger 'Nade immediately after throwing it.
- ⚠ The weapon swap animation may appear broken if weapon swapping right after vaulting.
- ⚠ Player animations may appear broken when interrupting a search of the Baron Husk.
- ⚠ Shredders float to the ceiling in some rooms of the Hidden Bunker.
- ⚠ Leapers can jump through the ARC Turbine.
- ⚠ Items that give Merits wrongfully display a Merits icon when brought into a Raid.
- ⚠ Shots taken while riding ARC may not register correctly.
- ⚠ Some doors may allow player flashlight beams to pass through instead of blocking the emitted light.
- ⚠ Clipping issues with the Triumph, Reaver and Azimuth outfits.
- ⚠ Old Ermal offers may appear to be available in the 'Acquire and Craft' menu (visual only).
