Decision guide

What should you feed Scrappy?

If you only read one section on this page, read this one. Pick your goal first, then run the food that actually targets it.

Most profit
Agave

Best single-fruit profit over just selling the fruit raw.

Reactor hunting
Fruit Mix

Best odds for Queen Reactor and Matriarch Reactor.

Augments
Mushroom

Only documented pool with Mk. 2 and Mk. 3 augment rolls.

Rare utility
Prickly Pear

Best for Snap Hook, Photoelectric Cloak, and utility tools.

Explosives
Lemon

Best for Deadline, Wolfpack, and finished grenade drops.

Expedition 3 prep
Fruit Mix / Lemon / Apricot

Best overlap with metals, chemicals, alloy, battery, springs, wires, and electronics.

Best jackpot food

Fruit Mix — best if you want the big roll

Fruit Mix is still the highest raw one-feed EV and the best reactor food in the game. It is not the best use of its three ingredients if your only goal is pure long-run profit, but it is the best answer for jackpot hunting and broad mixed value.

System overview

How feeding works

Feed Scrappy specific foods to get a bonus item roll and guaranteed base materials after each qualifying raid.

Dual reward tracks

Each food triggers two effects per qualifying raid: a Feeding Reward and a Resource Bonus of flat +5 base materials.

The 6-minute rule

You must spend >6 minutes in-raid for rewards to resolve. Longer raids do not improve the odds.

Queue system

Up to 6 foods queued, processed in order. One food is consumed per qualifying raid.

Common failures

Getting nothing usually means the raid was under 6 minutes, the food was not committed, or the collection box is full.

Gameplay loop

The optimal feeding cycle

Short, consistent 7-minute cycles beat marathon raids. More qualifying runs means more rolls per hour.

Step 1 Set a goal — profit, reactors, augments, utility, or Expedition 3
Step 2 Queue 6 foods in priority order
Step 3 Enter raid and clear the threshold
⏱️ Has more than 6 minutes passed?
Step 4 Extract or die — both still count after threshold
Step 5 Claim rewards — clear the box and repeat

Profit vs selling

Which food actually makes the most money?

This is the key improvement to the guide. Feeding only makes sense if the expected Scrappy value beats what you would get by selling the fruit directly.

Net profit over selling the fruit

Expected value from feeding minus the direct sale value of the fruit.

The original loot-table view is still here, but each card now tells you when the food is worth running and when it is not.

Expedition 3

Best Scrappy foods for Expedition 3

Expedition 3 is mostly a material gate. That means the best Scrappy foods are not the flashiest ones — they are the ones that overlap with metals, chemicals, alloy, battery, wires, springs, and electronics.

Best foods for Expedition 3

Ordered by practical overlap with the Expedition 3 requirement stack.

Food Why it helps
Fruit MixBest overall. Bulk mixed materials, doubled commons, and +5 of all base mats.

AgavePoor fit. Mostly mods and attachments.
Prickly PearMostly utility and tools, not Expedition 3 materials.

Farming

Best places to farm each food

The fastest way to keep Scrappy fed is not always the same as the best way to farm one fruit. Use mixed basket routes when you need volume, and target-specific routes when you are hard-focusing one queue.

🧺 Wicker baskets during Lush Blooms

Best all-purpose route. Baskets can stock Agave, Apricot, Lemon, Mushroom, Olives, and Prickly Pear in one loop. This is the best “just keep Scrappy fed” route.

🏫 Stella Montis cafeteria basket room

Best short-run feeding loop. Open the room, hit the baskets, stay over 6 minutes, leave, repeat.

🍑🍋 Blue Gate Olive Grove

Best tree route for Apricot, Lemon, and Olives. Great if you are preparing Fruit Mix or Expedition 3 material queues.

🍄 Dam Battlegrounds

Best Mushroom route. Focus water treatment pipes, hydroponic planters, and swamp-adjacent trees. Pair with baskets if available.

🌿 Dry-biome plant routes

Best for Agave specifically. Use this if your queue is all Agave and your only goal is profit.

🌵 Cactus spawns

Best direct route for Prickly Pear. Good if you want utility items or need the Prickly ingredient for in-raid Fruit Mix crafting.

🍹 Fruit Mix — craft in-raid

Combine 1 Lemon + 1 Apricot + 1 Prickly Pear using in-raid crafting. Cannot be crafted in the lobby. Best saved for jackpot sessions, reactor sessions, or Expedition 3 prep rather than pure profit farming.

Common questions

FAQ

QDo longer raids give better feeding odds?

No. Around 6 minutes is the threshold. After that, raid length does not improve the feeding roll. Short, consistent runs maximize rolls per hour.

QDoes dying vs extracting matter?

No. After the threshold, both extraction and death are widely reported to trigger the feeding reward the same way.

QWhy did Scrappy eat my food but I got nothing?

The three common causes are ending the raid before 6 minutes, not properly committing the food in the UI, or having a full collection box blocking deliveries.

QCan Scrappy drop blueprints or weapons?

No. Published pool breakdowns indicate feeding drops only items — materials, equipment, consumables, augments, and tools. No blueprints and no weapons.

QCan Fruit Mix be crafted in the lobby?

No. Fruit Mix must be crafted during a match using in-raid crafting. It costs 1 Lemon + 1 Apricot + 1 Prickly Pear.

QDo I need specific blueprints unlocked for reactor drops?

This is still unconfirmed. Some community sources claim a blueprint prerequisite, but the reverse-engineered pool data does not show a dependency condition.

QAre there other feedable fruits like hazelnuts or peaches?

No. The feeding system uses exactly 7 items: Agave, Apricot, Lemon, Mushroom, Olives, Prickly Pear, and Fruit Mix.

QWhat is the best single fruit if I only care about money?

Agave. It has the best single-fruit profit over just selling the fruit raw.

QShould I always craft Fruit Mix?

No. Craft Fruit Mix for reactor odds, broad mixed value, or Expedition 3 support. If your only goal is pure profit from the three ingredients, feed Lemon + Apricot + Prickly Pear separately instead.
