How to Kill the Vaporizer Weak Points, Shield Strategy & Loot
Vaporizer is the Flashpoint enemy check. If your team cannot solve the shield cycle and laser denial, Close Scrutiny turns from a farm into a trap.
Classification and Overview
Vaporizer is a new flying ARC enemy, not a weapon. It patrols the Assessor during Close Scrutiny, often in pairs, and uses fast laser pressure plus shield timing to punish players who stand still or commit too early.
Attack Pattern
The Vaporizer laser shreds shields quickly and applies burn pressure. It also splashes across geometry and ignites nearby ground, which means cover only buys you time instead of full safety.
The real danger is how it combines with the rest of the encounter. Hornets, Wasps, Fireflies, and ground ARC can push you out of safe angles while the Vaporizer controls the airspace above them.
Shield Mechanic
The safest pattern is bait, break, burst.
- •Use standard gunfire or grenades to draw out the shield response.
- •Do not dump your high-value anti-ARC weapon into an active shield window.
- •Once the shield drops, commit hard to the thrusters with Dolabra, Hullcracker, or Aphelion.
Weak Points
The cleanest weak point is the ventral thruster set. If you can position slightly underneath the Vaporizer, you gain the best angle for grounding it quickly. That is why vertical cover, ramps, and lower terrain pockets matter so much in Close Scrutiny.
Support Units and Spawn Behavior
Expect two or more Vaporizers around an Assessor, with additional pressure once the breach starts. The fight becomes harder the longer you stay.
- •They commonly work alongside Fireflies, Hornets, Wasps, and ground patrol ARC.
- •Repeated clears do not guarantee peace; the encounter can respawn more pressure.
- •Longer fights increase the odds of Raider third parties joining the ARC chaos.
